Daffodils have arrived

Last year we put in some new shrubs along the front of the house to hide the exposed concrete foundation. When we did that I moved the daffodils out into the front garden and they have survived beautifully. The ones down the side of the house are putting on quite a show themselves and the creeping phlox that Jason’s mother planted the year we moved in have just begun to bud and bloom. The grape hyacinths have done very well and are loaded with buds. The lilac has just begun to leaf out if you look closely at the far left picture on the left side. Hopefully it will wait until I get home to bloom.

Pink_retrorib_second_cuffI’m nearly finished with the cuff of the second pink retrorib sock. I may manage to begin the heel flap this afternoon while Daniel is in tutoring.

  1. Oh, I miss lilacs here, we have crepe myrtle but it’s just not the same. I should be glad that the problem is that it is too hot for them, but I just miss them! There were huge lilac bushes on the way home from school, and my sisters and I would always stop and pick bouquets for my mama. There is nothing like the smell of lilacs!
I am trying to learn to spin myself! It is awfully hard, though….. Neat that you were able to demo for other people!

  2. Spring is definitely here!

  3. Beautiful flowers! Happy Spring!
