With the light color dry in the hallway I put on the first coat of the dark color yesterday afternoon. I should get that finished up this morning as it’s quick to paint the dark. Last night I went to a spinning group with Grace and while I was away Jason ripped out the carpet in Daniel’s room. I’d get you a picture but he’s still sleeping and I don’t want to disturb him walking around upstairs. Mom was worried about my allergies when the carpet was removed so he was good enough to do it while I was away.
For dinner last night I made pork and veggie stir fry.
Pork with broccoli and green beans
1 pound pork tenderloin, cut into cubes
2 T canola oil
1/4 teaspoon crushed red pepper
2 medium sweet onions, chopped
2 cloves garlic, minced
1/2 cup vegetable stock
1 head broccoli, chopped and steamed
1 pound green beans, trimmed and chopped
1 teaspoon sugar
salt to taste
2 tablespoons low sodium temari
1 tablespoon sesame seeds
1 tablespoon fresh ginger, peeled and grated
cooked brown rice
In a large skillet, heat canola oil until it just begins to smoke. Season pork with salt and sear in hot oil. Add onions and continue to cook until onions are nearly wilted. Stir in the garlic and cook for about 30 seconds or until fragrant. Add vegetable stock, sugar, ginger, green beans, and temari. Cover and cook 4 minutes or until beans are just tender. Stir in broccoli and heat through. Remove from heat. Serve over brown rice, garnish with sesame seeds.
Last year I discovered that morning glories are a lot happer growing up the rose trellis by the fence with morning shade that growing on the lamp post in full sun. I’d grown them from pots bought at the nursery last year but this year I bought seed from Cook’s Garden. This is the earliest I’ve had blooms of all the years I’ve planted morning glories. They definitely like the new spot best.

The painted room looks wonderful–great work! Congrats on the new car. It’s always fun to have that new car smell for a while.
The photo of the morning glory is beautiful–I love how the center of it glows.
Have a good weekend!
