Jason asked me to stop at Wild Birds Unlimited on my way home from the airport Saturday to pick up some no-mess seed as we were out. While I was there I also looked a bird baths and misters. My old bird bath got blown over one too many times and was finally too broken to use so it was discarded at the beginning of the summer. This new one was just the ticket. Jason was a little too busy over the weekend to install the drip/mister I bought but the flooring is definitely a higher priority. For now it’s just nice to have a birdbath again. It’s fun to watch them playing in it.
Here’s what I did with that zucchini from the CSA- zucchini and onion pizza. Jason grilled the veggies for me with some olive oil, salt and pepper. I made my usual pizza dough- 3/4 cup warm water, scant tablespoon of yeast, 1 teaspoon sugar, let stand 5 minutes or until bubbly then add 2 1/2 cups flour, 1 teaspoon salt, and 1 tablespoon oil and knead right in the bowl for 5 to 10 minutes. Cover with plastic wrap and let rise until doubled. Punch down and divide into four with a knife. Roll out dough on a floured board and apply toppings. Bake in a preheated 425 F oven on a pizza stone/ hearth kit or pizza pan for 7 to 10 minutes or until crust begins to brown.
While I waited for my dough to rise I worked on a twisted beaded bracelet. On Sunday at knitting Carolyn was telling us all about her trip to Stitches Midwest where she learned to make a knitted bracelet. I’ve had the directions printed out for months but thought it would take a really long time to string the beads. She said it wasn’t really that bad so I decided to finally give it a go. This bracelet uses 280 beads strung in two colors 2 by 2 onto beading thread. I had thought the thread wouldn’t be visible but it definitely is so you really need to use something that matches your project. I worked on it a bit more after dinner and already it’s pretty nearly done. I just need to pick up some findings for it to make a clasp.

wow… love the birdbath and bracelet. I hope you get your package in the mail from me today. The post office said 2-3 days, so it should be today.

Oooh! Yours is prettier than mine! I think we have different patterns, because mine looks a little different. I hope the bead stringing wasn’t too tedious.
