Winter has not abandoned us

Winters_returnHere’s what it looks like outside my front door at the moment. We’ve had rain, rain, rain and more rain this winter and very spring-like temperatures. The garden is completely confused. The daffodils were sprouting and the climbing rose had leafed out on the bottom nearest the house. The hollyhocks were putting out new leaves. I may lose quite a few plants this year because there’s still plenty of winter left here! Temps in the 30′s today are a bit more normal for this time of year than the 50′s we have had for quite some time. I think I’ve worn my coat once this year. I see that tomorrow we are expecting 40′s and a bit of rain again. I wonder what February will bring?

Split_cables_front  Yesterday morning I ripped back to the mistake, it only took about 5 minutes. By the time I got to knitting I was already about halfway back to where I’d been. I managed to finish the front and cast on for the back by the time I left. I’m at least 1/3 through the back already and I imagine I’ll make good progress again today. The rest of the sweater is all just moss stitch and shaping, no more cables, so it’s very quick to knit.

  1. Glad you fixed the sweater without too much stress. Have a good week.

  2. I saw my first patch of crocus yesterday, a beautiful buttery lemon colour. We were out walking when I spotted them, wished I’d had my camera and then realised that when I got home I could have used my phone to do the job! I can’t keep up with technology…give me knitting anyday.
