Here’s the first half of the lollipop roving spun and plied. I was aiming for worsted weight and made a 3-ply yarn with two singles of natural merino. I read somewhere that if it doesn’t get all twisty when you take it off the niddy noddy then it’s got just the right tension… I’m not sure if that’s true or not but it hung nice and straight when I took it off. I used my new jumbo flyer and got almost 160 yards in one go.

These are some bright and shining faces currently in my garden. The coreopsis and oenothera are two of my summer bloomers down by the mailbox and they bloom for quite some time. The redbud is beginning to make a little progress though it’ll be many years before she actually looks like a tree.

In the 14,296 things I have recently read about spinning, everyone said that if your skein hangs straight you’re golden ;o)
Beautiful yellow flowers!
