Here’s the first completed pair of Log Cabin socks from Handknit Holidays. I knit them with worsted weight Toasty Toes yarn by Interlacements on size 4 DPNs. I goofed the cuff and have 6 rows between cable rows rather than 5 and other than that the pattern is unmodified. These weigh 96 grams leaving 120 grams in the ball. I’ll knit the proper cuff on the second pair and make the foot a bit longer. They fit me quite well but the person I’m knitting for has a foot that’s just a tad longer than mine so I’ll add just a wee bit to the foot length and she should be all set.

The rest of the day disappeared in a flash as I kept an eye on milk warming and then cooling for yogurt and in the other pan I had some chicken stock going.

Very cute socks. Are you doing the stock in a stock pot? It looks like in a flat pan from the picture. It is getting to be that time of year with stocks and soups, isn’t it? Especially with all this rain.

I’m not sure which would be yummier — your dinner or your socks!

Yay! Great socks! Do you like the yarn, despite the knots?

You’re a knittin’ and cookin’ machine woman! They look absolutely wonderful – and will definately be toasty warm house socks.(I’m guessin’, as they look nice and thick… didn’t you tell me that they are?… ) love all the autumn colors.

I love the colors in these socks. I just saw them in person. Very pretty!
