Yesterday, thanks to a gentle reminder, I filled the birdbath and cleaned and filled the oriole feeder which is a favorite for the hummingbirds as well. Monday’s scorching heat dried out the daffodils and muscari a fair bit so I cut quite a few and brought them indoors.

Sometimes a wild guess pays off. Thanks so much to Liz who sent me this fab roving for guessing closest in her blogiversary contest. I’ve never spun possum before so that’ll be fun! There’s also 8 ounces of gorgeous blue roving. The poor spinning wheel has been neglected of late and for inspiration I joined the Weekend Whirls. Although I was pretty tired after all the painting Sunday I did manage to get out my wheel and work some more on the alpaca silk I bought at Rhinebeck last fall and yesterday I finished up the bobbin. We have a pretty busy weekend coming up but I do hope to find time to ply this as I’ve now got two bobbins full of this fiber.

For those of you going to the Connecticut Sheep and Wool Festival on Saturday I’ll be there. Please say, "Hi" if you see me! I’ll most likely have my Indy Hat and my black Relay for Life (please donate!) backpack with a NETA name tag hanging on it.
