The light area of Bob’s face is all done. Now there’s a black area to do but it’s much smaller so hopefully that will go faster. I do think the front of the vest will be a little stiff with all this duplicate stitch. I’m definitely going to have to find an Intarsia class at some point so that will be more of an option in the future.

Folks are usually surprised when I confess that Jason and I sometimes argue over who gets to cook for Valentine’s day but we do both really enjoy cooking, especially a fancy dinner. This year it was my turn though he did steam the broccoli and finish the steaks for me. I made garlic and thyme marinated scallops over arugula with a Parmesan cheese crisp, smashed Yukon gold new potatoes, steamed broccoli, and filet mignon with a mushroom demi-glace sauce laced with scotch. For dessert we had chocolate covered Alabama pecans, scotch truffles and fresh raspberries and mangos. Daniel’s not such a fan of all that dark chocolate (though he’s gradually getting there out of sheer desperation) so for him I made red velvet cupcakes with conversation heart sayings on them. I have to say, that red gel is very hard to write with. Next time I’ll try the red icing instead.

Man, all that food looks so good! I bet eating at your house is true joy.

I wish I could be your dinner guest — scallops and mashed potatoes are two of my all time favorite foods.
PS — Bob looks great

I just remembered that when I worked in the campus library in college, the screensaver that usually showed X’s would sometimes pop up a little Bob head. We were always excited when we saw it (we had a lot of time on our hands).

Wow that is some serious duplicate stitch. I’m seriously impressed. I’m having trouble weaving all the ends in on Sophie’s sweater. (lol)
