Jewelled coryphee With quivering wings like shielding gauze outspread. Ednah Proctor Clarke (Hayes)

429feederAs Judy so kindly reminded us a few weeks ago, it’s time for hummingbird feeders. Last year I put my feeder right out and was rewarded with earlier than usual hummer visits. This year I’ve been slow to get mine out as there’s been so much going on. Yesterday I finally did get my act together and filled the window feeder. Last year we had two pair. I wonder if they’ve installed themselves in the neighbors yard instead after finding mine empty. I did plant their sweet peas a few weeks ago and the honeysuckle has leafed out nicely.

And speaking of blooming things, the bulbs MIL sent last month have started to show their cheery faces. They are most welcome this chilly damp week!

  1. I’ve got orioles so far. I just made another batch of syrup and will get it out tomorrow. Thanks for the reminder.

  2. Good for you! A friend saw one at her quince a couple days ago.
