Sometime last fall my car air conditioning stopped working. It being fall I didn’t really worry about it but the recent heat wave reminded me that it might really be nice to look into that. It was time for an oil change anyway so last week Jason dropped the car off and asked them to recharge the a/c for me. At first the mechanic thought I needed a new compressor but a little (okay a lot- as in much disassembling and reassembling of bits) of investigation turned up this chewed wire. He reckons a mouse got into my engine and chomped this little wire thus cutting the power to my a/c. We’ve been advised to put mothballs into bags and stash them a few places around the engine to prevent further such occurrences.

Thank goodness it was a cheaper fix than a new AC. And great idea!
