Ergonomic improvements

Reading-the-instructions Supervisors Work-in-progress Inspecting Friday before last Jason and I spent the entire day looking for a new more ergonomic desk. The keyboard tray had broken off my old desk many years ago and there never was a proper place for the mouse and it was suggested at physical therapy that a new desk and office chair might go a long way towards helping to manage the recent neck/shoulder/arm troubles. We had a very difficult time finding much other than flat pack MDF type desks or over the top budget busting desks that would mean skipping any sort of vacation for a few years. In the end we ordered a flat pack desk which arrived earlier this week. I spent all afternoon yesterday doing all the fiddly pre-assembly work with the help of the cats and when Jason got home we spent the evening  putting the thing together. I now have a keyboard tray large enough to accomodate both keyboard and mouse and a nice chair that has adjustable arms and height. Once I can train myself to sit properly and get accustomed to working with my glasses on I should be in much better shape.

Ready-for-action New-becd This morning I tried to decide what really needs to go on the desk and what needs to find a new home. I have to say it's nice to declutter! Some of the new home things were taken up to the sewing room where I found that Gwen has claimed herself a new bed. While organizing in there I'd brought in some baskets from the basement and temporarily put this little blanket into one of them which Gwen thinks is quite the parfect nap spot.

  5. Hey we missed you last week. Hope you are feeling better. Can we plan to meet up on the 9th. I would love to see you and Rose for a bit. Let me know.

  6. LOL! I think Gwen found a perfect spot. I hope the new desk and chair speed your recovery. Pain is definitely not fun, and especially horrible when it impacts knitting and spinning!

  7. It looks like the cats are supervising…
