What? Isn't that how the rhyme goes? Yesterday we went out to Great Brook State Farm in search of pink lady slippers and a bit of exercise. The orchids were out in spades along with horses, pups and families. Alice even spotted a white lady slipper which is a rare albino version of the pink variety as far as I can tell. A bit further down the trail we found a horseshoe which I carried home, washed and installed on the garden shed for luck. Maybe that means I'll have a bumper crop of veggies this year? More photos in the "Alice and John" set here.
See a horseshoe, pick it up…

Hi Julie,
It has been a while since I’ve stopped by (I took a very long media fast!), and I doubt you will remember me, but I used to be a frequent visitor to your blog a few years back. Now, I am just getting back into blogging again and trying to re-connect with all of my old favorites
I have enjoyed reading about all of your recent outings–to Garden in the Woods, Great Brook State Farm, and the MFA. It is such a nice time of year to get out and about for a bit of exploring–especially after our long New England winter!
I always love to see what you are knitting, reading, growing in your garden, and cooking up in your kitchen.
Best,
Susan in MA
