Yesterday while the rain came down I pulled out the spinning wheel and worked on a corriedale fleece purchased at Rhinebeck a few years back. This is the 3rd prize winner for that year and since I wasn't feeling well Madame Purl valiantly fought her way through a barn full of crazed spinners to come out with fleeces for both of us. It's about time I put this fleece to good use!
To wet to go out, too cold to play ball

That’s great that your friend did that for you. I am not ready to fight for any fleece yet.

Rose is definitely more forward than I am to begin with. I plan to make something for her out of some of the fleece as theres 4 pounds of it. I have in mind some sort of tea cozy with embroidery, shed love that.

Was it prepped, or did you have to clean it? It is lovely and white. Oh, and I love your comparison piece… much better than a dime. Now I need a root beer.

Pretty singles! I have been plying up the Alpaca/wool singles I just finished. I didn’t enjoy spinning them at all. The fiber was full of vm and I had to stop every minute or so and pick things out. I have no idea why I felt the need to finish it. Never again. Your sample is sitting in the basket to start spinning next. I can’t wait!

I am a firm believer in paying someone to prep for me! I send fine fleeces (well everything really but especially fine) to Spinderellas. Shes super fast and does a beautiful job.

Thanks! Im definitely extra picky about getting coated fleeces that are low on the VM. I know thats not an option with alpaca. Now that I know I probably have some CT in my wrists Im so glad Ive taken care to avoid the vm, we dont need to do any more damage
I cant wait to hear what you think of Tarragon, shes my first fleece and still my favorite.

You’re right I would love it. I can’t wait for this year at the fleece barn.
Love this new message system.

I have to laugh at myself. Totally blew my secret didnt I? I am so not used to this new comment thing but I think I like the interactivity. Ive been emailing directly as a backup because I have no idea if it notifies commenters of a response. Let me know if you get this twice.
