Last fall was really busy with test knitting for Sock Madness. It’s such a relief to finally be able to post some of these pictures that I’ve been sitting on for so long. When I saw these cute little socks I thought they’d be a breeze but they are deceptive. Getting those stripes to behave nicely when you decrease for the heel and then pick up for the gusset was rather tricky. Kudos to the designer, Yarnyenta, for creating this inventive pattern and then slogging through the heel a second time to correct some pattern errors and add more detail for those of us less talented. She did a great job and once we had a baby steps approach to the heel hammered out I got through it and the rest of the pattern went fairly smoothly. I knit a second cuff last month but finishing these will have to wait until I get through my swap socks (I’m ready for cables today, yay!)

Those are so cute!! At first I wasn’t sure if they were coffee beans or footballs. I’m definitely glad to see they are coffee beans – I’m not a football fan.

You know I’m not a coffee fan, but now that folk are thinking jellybeans, I might have to knit a nice colourful pair.
