When MmePurl was visiting she commented that she liked my little eye mask for sleeping and I promised I’d make her a few. Yesterday I popped into the sewing room, dug out my pattern (such as it is), and a few fabric and batting scraps and off I went. Of course I had to use the kitty fabric for hers (left over from the kitty apron that I hear she loves to use for spinning- great idea, now I need a second one for me) and the blue for me. As soon as Daniel saw these on the stairs he claimed one for himself and now that I think on it, they are sort of perfect for night owl teenagers who like to sleep during the day.

Our frost date finally being past, I got out into the garden in the afternoon to plant green beans, bush cucumbers and butternut squash. The English peas are absolutely loaded with flowers so in a few weeks we’ll be swamped with peas, I can’t wait! I’m also watching that garlic, I read that I should harvest it when the tops are about 2/3 brown. (I love my leather hat for keeping the sun out of my eyes. I felt kind of silly buying that at Epcot many years ago but gosh it’s been a good hat.)

Those masks are lovely, I should poke around Ravelry and see if there is as knitting equivalent.
