It seems that Tougas Farm is very popular this year. It’s so popular that Jason and I cannot pick fruit together on the weekend because it’s all gone by then. The farm is usually closed at the beginning of the week to let fruit ripen then the open on Wednesday and close again once all fruit has been picked. Last week I went on Wednesday for blackberries and raspberries which apparently closed before the end of the day, wow! I picked 3 pounds of blackberries and 6 pounds of raspberries. Most of the raspberries went into the freezer and most of the blackberries I turned into 1 1/2 pints of semi-seedless jam with just a cup or so of raspberries thrown in for a more complex flavor. This is my favorite jam so far though Jason says he likes the strawberry best.

Looks yummy. Who know berry picking was so popular? Maybe with the economy people can now get out to do it themselves. Of course the economy thing didn’t seem as bad there.
