While I enjoy the show in Rhinebeck it’s a heck of a long drive and it’s just getting too crowded for this introvert. I’ll still go once in awhile (especially if Rose is in town) but I think the Big E FF is much more my speed. If you want books or tools then this is not the show for you. If you want yarn or spinning fiber then it’s exactly where you want to be. I was delighted to find a merino fleece on the fleece table. Jason spotted 4 of them for me and the nicest one came home. I always enjoy the dogs getting trained by herding ducks at the New Hampshire Sheep and Wool Festival so I was delighted to see them this weekend. It was pretty amazing watching this giant ram getting shorn.

Amy from Spunky Eclectic was kind enough to hold a braid of the black cherry BFL I so enjoyed from SPA this year so now I’ll have enough for a hat or mittens or socks to go with my shawl. I picked up a couple other things from her to try as well as a few wee skeins of sock yarn and a lovely braid from Serendipty and Creative booths. To top it all off, I was done by noon and we were on our way home with plenty of time for grocery shopping and some afternoon crafting before dinner.

It looks like a fun place to be, although I can’t help thinking that an indoor fiber festival is an odd beast. My big knitting event over the weekend was the Pine Street Inn Knit-A-Thon, which was a different animal but great fun, especially as it was held this year in the State House, where I hadn’t been since a school field trip a zillion years ago.

The FF of NE was nice. You picked up some really lovely yarn and fiber I see. I loved the demos. The sheep shearer was so entertaining and educational at the same time.
I think I saw you but was too shy to say hi.

I just missed you! I’m with Karen , though, I saw you at New Hampshire and was too shy to introduce myself.
Your quilting looks great. I’m looking forward to going back to this Fiberfest. We were coming back from New York and were tired. It was a really nice time though.

Why is that man shearing that sheep in November? Doesn’t it need it’s fur for the winter? I can’t help but notice how not green your loot is, excellent choices.
