

Julie’s Sloppy Joe
1 pound ground beef, extra-lean
8 ounces mushrooms, finely diced
1/2 red onion, finely diced
1 tablespoon minced garlic
2 ribs celery, finely diced
1 jalapeno and 1 red chili, minced
1 cup ketchup
2 tablespoons chili sauce
salt and freshly ground pepper, to taste
In a large skillet over medium heat, cook beef with all the vegetables until veggies are soft and liquid has evaporated. Chop up the meat with the spatula as you cook. Stir in ketchup and chili sauce, taste and adjust seasonings. Serve over toasty buns.
