To pin or not to pin, that is the question…

Here’s why the sewing room door must be firmly shut if I’m not in there to supervise a certain kitten. She’s really a magpie in disguise and likes to steal pins from the pincushion and I’m afraid she’ll try to eat them. I tried sewing these blocks together with and without pins and as you can see, the points line up much better with pins. The top went together fairly quickly so it won’t be long before I strike another task off my todo list for holiday gift sewing.

  1. Love the blues!!!

  2. We have some magpies of the same feather. I have a couple of pin thieves as well and have to watch them like a hawk. It’s a annoying.

  3. Interesting. My felines bother absolutely nothing, not yarn nor food…except pins. When I block knitting, I have to cover it with towels while I’m working and shut the door to the room.

Years ago, I had a kitten who ate a pin. It was a very expensive pin I can tell you. Said kitten is now sitting in front of the computer while I type, so a happy ending.

  4. Forgot to say, the quilt is beautiful.
