OMG, can’t believe you made beignets. They look wonderful. For ten years, I lived a few blocks from the Café du Monde. Beignets were something the kids and I did after school. Unfortunately, the last few times I have been, the beignets were not up to snuff.
We also hung out often with the group at Preservation Hall. I frequently sat with the basket at the door when admission was a dollar a head. It was the really old musicians back then. Which meant I attended several jazz funerals. Ah, nostalgia.
