The squirrel baffle that was so effective on the patio is all but useless now that the feeder is out in the grass. They jump straight up past it without any trouble at all. I think it’s time to switch from this straight version to the really flared one.

My parents have a dome shaped thing over one of their feeders that is supposed to keep the squirrels away. It doesn’t. They have a special feeder out in the yard that is supposed to swing shut if something heavier than a bird sits on it. It does….but bears can still get into it. They should just throw bird food out into the yard and save themselves putting it into the feeders.
Also? The squirrels used to run away if you banged on the window. Now they just look at you as if to say, “You and what army?” CHEEKY.
