The first class we took was the Mariner’s Compass class with Chris Lynn Kirsch. As part of the class we got her new book so we didn’t even have to take notes. We used a large embroidery hoop to draw our circles. We cut those out and used a folding method to draft our templates. During class we learned how to adjust for little imperfections that happen in the folding and drawing of the templates and we sewed 1/8 of our compass. Classes at Expo are limited to 3 hours and Chris did a fantastic job of truncating a 6-hour class to fit the 3-hour format. I can’t wait to finish up my first compass!

That was such a good class. I can’t wait to incorporate that into more items. That space ship was interesting to work on.
