Someone visited our patio during the night looking for something tasty to eat. We long ago moved the trash into the bulkhead where the raccoons cannot get it after Jason observed them tip the trash can over and rock it from side to side while jumping on it to dislodge the lid. It looks like they still come visit but all they’ll find now is seed the birds have tossed about or some veggie bits in the compost.

We got a shelf that will do nicely for plants. I got a few more drawer systems for the sewing room and Jason got one to organize the gardeny stuff that’s been cluttering the corner near the back sliding glass door. Gabby isn’t happy that her sleepy spot on top of my knitting bag has disappeared but she has many kitty beds about the house so I’m sure she’ll survive.

Our aging roof began to disintegrate pretty rapidly this summer and each time it rained I would find bits of shingles on the steps and in the yard. It took us awhile to get replacement scheduled but a new roof is finally underway. They came yesterday and stripped off all the old shingles and replaced ten rotting boards. The ridge vent was fairly leaky and that will be replaced as well. Today the new shingles will go on and by this afternoon we’ll have a lovely new NOT leaky roof! We have one little strip of moldy insulation to replace and we’ll be good to go again.

That means we have a guest room again so for the past few weeks he’s been moving down the things he wants to keep and there’s been a mass exodus of accumulated empty bottles and other discarded things.
Saturday, before the storm arrived, we visited the Apple store where I got an iPod classic which has mad space for all sorts of music. I’ve been plotting to declutter and get rid of music cd’s for awhile now but none of my devices had enough space to make that practical. I also wanted to ditch an ancient space hog stereo and these portable speakers fit the bill. They can run off batteries or AC and will charge the iPod when running on AC. Now I need to find time to upload all my music and organize it and then I’ll be all set.
