I always seem to come back from the beach with my pockets full of shells. Given the demise of my poor little camera, I need to learn to bring a bag along with me in the future! Jason’s cousin Lara and I had the same thought about those with holes drilled at the cusp (by parasites I presume) and she and her daughter Gracie made necklaces for all the women out of them. Mine are home awaiting assembly.

Several years ago we had a Super Squirrel who could fling himself around the baffle in an amazing gymnastic feat to catch the bird feeder above for a veritable feast of seed. It was so entertaining to watch that we didn’t really mind him gorging himself on seed and none of the other squirrels ever managed to repeat it. This year we may have another super squirrel but Jason postulates he’s jumping from the new bird bath and has moved them further apart. Time will tell if we have SuperSquirrel.2 or just an imposter.

We did a bit of shopping in Jackson Hole, I got a new necklace and a pair of boots and Jason got this awesome Diplomystus fossil from the Eocene that was found in the Green River Formation in Wyoming. It’s rare he’ll buy anything for himself so I was glad he got it. The shopkeeper at By Nature explained that darker fossils are thicker and considered higher quality.
